a bit about me

Where I began

Welcome! My name is Faith Makris Becker, and I truly care about helping you achieve a life of peace and fulfillment. With over 15 years of clinical experience, my journey as a psychotherapist began as a teen suicide prevention hotline counselor. It was in this role that my passion and desire to connect with other humans was ignited, and instilled my ideology that people need people. And with that, deep connection, sincere empathy, and unconditional support is imperative. Since then, I made it my mission to guide and aid clients through understanding and accepting the past, making sense of the present, and molding for a brighter future. In my eyes, my clients are the strongest and most resilient humans I know.

My personal journey

In seeking higher education to become a certified counselor, I graduated from Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University, with a bachelor’s degree in both Psychology as well as Political Science. Following my undergraduate degrees, I completed my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at my alma mater. I have since then practiced as a licensed clinician in Arizona, Texas, Michigan, and Florida in settings ranging from eating disorder recovery centers, schools, child development centers, and private practice. I enjoy working with an array of clients differing in ages and need, and often work with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction and bipolar disorder, as well as relationship and family challenges. I also possess in depth experience working with and treating eating disorders.

My mission

As a therapist, I strive to bridge one’s real world with their most idyllic future and aspirations through empowerment, coping techniques, and personal understanding. I am committed to helping clients improve their quality of life by incorporating the best fit of treatment based on individuality and style. I gravitate towards treating the whole client, paying special attention to the mind, body and soul, and I am prepared to curate a personal therapeutic experience for each client. I describe my clients as brave and powerful, and I am always honored to be a part of their journey.
